Could our new "Pimp this Job" feature really be working? Rumor has it, the answer may be yes.
I hear one of the jobs that we mentioned on this blog has had more than 200 applicants. (Yea!) Sure, the applicants may have heard about the job from one of a myriad of other avenues, but I like to think our community did its part to help.

The Capital Communicators Group is an organization of more than 800 communications professionals in the D.C. area. Our "meetings" consist of monthly lunches focusing on communications-related topics. And our blog will let you know about upcoming lunches, provide overviews of past lunches, and address communications-related topics.

About CCG
The Capital Communicators Group (CCG) is a Washington, DC-based informal network of Public Affairs, Public Relations, Media and Communications professionals who meet once a month for lunch and discussion.
In the age of faxes, phones and e-mail (and now blogs!), a lot of our work is done indirectly and impersonally. CCG is an informal, inexpensive and invaluable avenue to meet face-to-face.
Started by Mark Oswell, CCG lunches are designed to be a helpful means to network, exchange ideas, learn more about other aspects of our field and share experiences. CCG has one lunch per month at various locations. Each lunch is planned to have guest speakers address various PA/PR subjects. If you'd like to speak or have a topic idea, please let us know.
The more than 800 CCG members work for various government agencies, institutions, corporations, associations and the media. There are no annual dues, just the price of lunch, usually around $25. Mostly we meet at metro-accessible venues downtown where 30-40 of us can have a quiet area to ourselves.
